An integrated landscape approach to enhancing the climate resilience of small-scale farmers and pastoralists in Tajikistan

The project is financed by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by UNDP in Tajikistan together with the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

End of the project: 2026 

The project aims to address the significant socio-economic impacts of climate change on the livelihoods of vulnerable communities, as well as to improve agricultural productivity and water availability through project components in the Kofirnigan River Basin.

Component 1: Integrated catchment management to build climate resilience.               

Component 2: Ecosystem-based Adaptation, including Climate Smart Agriculture and Sustainable Land Management, in agroecological landscapes.

Component 3: Knowledge management on building climate resilience through integrated catchment management and EbA in the KRB.               

The project will be implemented in six target districts: Fayzobod, Vahdat and Varzob are located upstream of the KRB, while Shaartuz, Kabodiyon and Nosiri Khusrav are located downstream of the KRB.
